Family Groups

Members of the project have been organized first by haplogroup. A haplogroup can be compared to a major branch on a family tree. Members of a haplogroup may be related with a common ancestor within a few hundred years or may be more distantly related and only have a common ancestor within the past thousand years or more. To learn more about haplogroups, click on the HAPLOGROUPS selection button on the left.

Members have then been categorized into a Family Group. Members within the Family Group are more closely related as determined by the closeness of their Y-Chromosome matches and/or by traditional genealogical research.

If you have additional information on any of these families, please send it to the webmaster.
